Hot Tub Shake
Hot Tub Shake is a miscellaneous Happy Tree Friends short. This short was originally an animation based on the "Harlem Shake" meme uploaded by 444memestreet, a YouTube channel allegedly managed by the Happy Tree Friends creators according to Hot Tub Shake's official description on YouTube. The 444memestreet channel was also responsible for the Fan Fest entry Nyan Nyan Cuddles based on the Nyan Cat meme and the Truffles-centric animation GANGNAM HAPPY TREE FRIENDS STYLE based on the "Gangnam Style" meme. Truffles' dancing animation is reused in this short during the "Harlem Shake" sequence.
The original video with the "Harlem Shake" music was uploaded on 444memestreet's channel on February 14, 2013 under the name Harlem Shake - Happy Tree Friends Version. It was promoted on the official Mondo website about the same day via a blog post by Zdravomir Staykov, the content manager for the show. The proper official upload with the Hot Tub Shake title and new original music by MethaPhorce Beats[1] was first uploaded on the official Mondo website on July 18, 2015 and on MondoMedia's YouTube channel on April 19, 2020.
Synopsis[edit]
Happy Tree Friends website (blog post): The gang drops the beat to the Harlem Shake. The base is electric… the results, shocking![2]
YouTube: The HTF creators made this short long long long time ago but somehow was never uploaded here. Who remembers Harlem Shake?
Plot[edit]
Cuddles, Giggles, and Disco Bear are in a hot tub, with the former two relaxing and the latter rhythmically bobbing his head and motioning his arm. Later, a flipped out Flippy shows up and throws a wired toaster into the tub, electrocuting the three Happy Tree Friends while he dances along. A dancing Truffles repeatedly appears and disappears in the background during this sequence.
