The '''Love Bites''' (also known as the '''Nibblets''' playlist<ref>[https://web.archive.org/web/20091212160802/http://htf.atom.com/index.php/playlists/love-bites-playlist/ Nibblets on Happy Tree Friends]</ref>) are a series of ''Happy Tree Friends'' shorts typically released on February as a tie-in to the Valentine's Day. However, these are made to be joke anti-Valentine's Day cartoons as all shorts involve a romantic couple that end up in an unfortunate, grisly situation typical of the show. Like other spin-off short collections such as [[Kringles]], a Love Bite short opens with a unique title card, which shows a cracked, bleeding heart with a bandage with the Love Bites logo over them and a green arrow bearing the ''Happy Tree Friends'' logo pierced through the heart, all over a crocheted background. Typically after something horrible happens to either character of the focused couple, a break-up message appears for a moment before resuming the short, except for "[[On My Mind]]", where the message marks the end of the short.

The Love Bites were introduced after the [[Happy Tree Friends (TV series)|TV series]], so the art style and animation from then are brought over to all the shorts like the web episodes from Season 3 onwards. This is the only non-Irregular themed collection with this distinction. The series began with the first short, "[[Cold Hearted]]", which was released on January 29, 2009, the only Love Bite not released in February. The last Love Bite short to date is "[[My Better Half]]", which was released on February 14, 2012. There are a total of 5 Love Bites.

All Love Bites are officially grouped under ''Valentine's Day Playlist'' among other similarly-themed shorts on the official Mondo website.
