== Concept and creation ==

Lumpy was derived from a bear character in a sketch during the creation of the pilot, ''[[Banjo Frenzy]]''. This sketch depicted the bear roasting marshmallows over a campfire while three other woodland characters were sitting on a log. At some point, this bear character was replaced by a dinosaur-like creature that plays a banjo; this character was eventually used in ''[[Banjo Frenzy]]'', where he also had a personality similar to [[Fliqpy]]. This dinosaur character was soon revised as a blue moose with mismatched antlers named Lumpy in the first public episode, ''[[Spin Fun Knowin' Ya!]]''. As of this point, Lumpy no longer has the banjo seen in ''[[Banjo Frenzy]]''.
