"Short animated holiday messages and greetings"
— Official Happy Tree Friends website[1]

Kringles (also known as the Ho, Ho, Ho playlist[2]) are short winter- or Christmas-themed Happy Tree Friends clips. Thus, they were usually released on December or near the end of November.

A Kringle's greeting card format.

Kringles were originally made to imitate electronic holiday greeting cards, as the card format allowed the viewer to share these shorts to other people via e-mail under their name using the "Send to a Friend" button (by default, both the "To:" and "From:" fields are blank). The card would open and the clip contained would play. It would always end with at least one character dying in a violent fashion. Once it was done and a holiday greeting message was shown, the card would close, now with its front decoration burned and destroyed, showing the sender's name and the options to either play the clip again or watch more Happy Tree Friends episodes on the official website. Later video releases on the official website or YouTube forwent the greeting card altogether, including all later shorts starting from "Strain Kringle".

A Kringle would be preceded with a loading screen depicting a candle on a pink paper-textured background for the greeting card version. Later video releases simply have the Kringles logo on a plain green background until "Strain Kringle", which added falling snowflakes on the background.

"Reindeer Kringle", "Ski Kringle", "Kitchen Kringle", "Kringle Karol", "Train Kringle", and "Tree Kringle" would be included in the Happy Tree Friends: Second Serving DVD as part of the bonus features and then later featured in Happy Tree Friends - Winter Break as intermissions between episodes. The aforementioned Kringles (except "Kringle Karol") as well as "Strain Kringle" were included in the Holidazed and Confused playlist on the Atom version of the Happy Tree Friends website starting from December 7, 2009[3] (with "Chill Kringle" the only new one added later) until the website's revamp in 2012, as well as on YouTube on December 19, 2009 as an interactive video until the annotations were retired from the platform in 2019[4]. The first six published Kringles were also compiled in the Happy Tree Friends - Kringles videos published on MondoMedia's YouTube channel on March 16, 2012, which play these Kringles back-to-back. The first part consists of "Kringle Karol", "Reindeer Kringle", and "Train Kringle", while the second part consists of "Kitchen Kringle", "Ski Kringle", and "Tree Kringle".

List of Kringles[edit]

The following table is a list of all Kringles. Availability depends on the platform and, in Mondo's website's case, current timeframe, due to the website's changing formats over time. This makes "Kringle Karol" (formerly available in rotation on the official website) the only Kringle to be not available on the official Mondo website and (technically) YouTube as an individual video, though it is part of Happy Tree Friends - Winter Break and the first part of the Happy Tree Friends - Kringles compilation, both of which are available on MondoMedia's YouTube channel. To differentiate this, its availability status under "YouTube" is color-coded yellow on this table.
